About this app
PostReply Inbox helps support teams hand off a selected customer conversation to their authorized Zendesk account.
A team member reviews the customer name, email, message count and subject, then explicitly confirms the export. Inbox creates a Zendesk ticket with a private conversation note. The authorizing Zendesk agent is the requester; customer details are context in the note, and the integration does not create a Zendesk customer account.
The one-time snapshot includes up to the latest 100 inbound and outbound text messages. Internal Inbox notes, attachment files and their download URLs are excluded. Each message is limited to 4,000 characters; long snapshots may be truncated to fit Zendesk size limits, with a truncation notice.
Open the linked ticket in Zendesk or manually refresh its status in Inbox. Later Inbox messages, Zendesk replies and ticket changes are not synchronized automatically. If creation is uncertain, refresh to reconcile the result rather than create a duplicate. A retry after a confirmed failure uses the first saved subject and snapshot.
This is an external integration: setup and use take place in PostReply Inbox. You need separate Inbox and Zendesk accounts, an eligible Inbox plan with an available integration slot, and a Zendesk agent or administrator authorized to create and read tickets. Inbox plan details: https://inbox.getpostreply.com/pricing. Connecting does not start a new subscription; Zendesk charges are separate.
Disconnecting removes local authorization and stops further access through that connection. Exported Zendesk tickets remain. If remote revocation cannot be confirmed, remove the app authorization in Zendesk. For support or data deletion requests, contact support@getpostreply.com. How to install
Sign in to your PostReply Inbox workspace at https://inbox.getpostreply.com. Ensure your Inbox plan includes Zendesk and has an available integration slot. You also need a Zendesk agent or administrator account with ticket permissions.
Open Settings → Integrations → Zendesk. Enter only your Zendesk subdomain, such as your-company. Select Connect Zendesk, review the Zendesk permission screen and authorize the intended account. Return to Inbox and check its displayed connection details. If the connector is unavailable or restricted to a test account, contact support@getpostreply.com; no connection is assumed.
Open a customer conversation in Inbox. In the customer sidebar, select Zendesk ticket → Review and create ticket. Review the customer name, email, message count, exclusions and subject. Confirm that you are authorized to send this customer data to Zendesk, then select Create private ticket once.
After creation is confirmed, open the ticket in Zendesk. Its conversation snapshot must appear as a private note. Use Refresh Zendesk ticket status in Inbox for a fresh read; later messages and replies are not synchronized. If creation is uncertain or note privacy cannot be verified, inspect Zendesk and refresh or contact support. Do not create another ticket. An offered retry reuses the first saved request.
To disconnect, use Settings → Integrations → Zendesk → Disconnect Zendesk and confirm. Existing Zendesk tickets remain. If Inbox reports unconfirmed remote revocation, also remove the authorization in Zendesk.
This integration is configured in Inbox rather than installing a sidebar widget in Zendesk. Full guide: https://inbox.getpostreply.com/integrations/zendesk. Inbox pricing: https://inbox.getpostreply.com/pricing. Support: support@getpostreply.com.
