About this app
Help Center Doctor keeps your Zendesk help center healthy from inside Zendesk. Nothing leaves your account.
About the developer
Built and supported by Pablo Simón, an independent developer in Ireland, for teams who manage a Zendesk Guide knowledge base and want to fix content problems without handing their articles to a third party.
What the app does
- Health scan: 34 rules check every article and translation for broken links and images, missing alt text, stale content, empty or unstructured articles, duplicate titles, empty sections and missing or outdated translations. You get a health score, a grade and a ranked list.
- Fix Center: replace or remove links and images, add alt text, publish, unpromote, add labels, move sections and mark translations current, for one finding or many at once.
- Find and replace across every article and language: visible text, links only or raw HTML, with a live preview.
- Bulk edit any filtered selection: labels, section, author, visibility, permission group, promote, comments, publish, translations, archive.
- PDF export and more: print, PDF, HTML, Word and Markdown documents of your own articles with cover page, table of contents and your logo.
- Article templates and snippets that create a draft in the right section.
- Link map: see who links to an article before you archive it.
Every change is previewed with a diff, a snapshot file is downloaded before any write, and undo is available. Metadata-only fixes never touch article bodies.
Plans
Free: scan up to 200 articles in the default language. Pro ($29 per account per month): unlimited articles and languages, all fixes and tools, 14-day free trial. Price per account, not per agent.
Data disclosure
The app runs entirely in the agent's browser inside Zendesk Support. It has no server and needs no vendor account or API key.
Data accessed through the Zendesk API with the signed-in user's permissions: help center articles (title, body, labels, status, votes, dates), translations, sections, categories, author names, user segments, permission groups, brands, and the current user's name, role and locale.
Data written: only the changes an authorised user explicitly confirms, plus drafts created from templates.
Data stored: a scan cache (including article bodies), link-check results, settings, templates and an activity log, in the browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on the admin's computer. "Clear local data" in Settings removes it.
Nothing is transmitted to the developer or to any third party. No analytics, cookies or AI services. External links found in articles are checked through Zendesk's request proxy, only when the user runs the link check.
No bulk export: documents cover up to 200 of the customer's own articles at a time, built on the customer's computer.

How to install
Help Center Doctor needs no account, API key or configuration. Installing takes about two minutes.
- Click Install on this listing (you need to be a Zendesk admin), choose your account and pick a plan. Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial; billing is handled by Zendesk.
- On the installation screen you can restrict the app to certain roles or groups. Click Install.
Open Zendesk Support. Help Center Doctor appears as an icon in the left navigation bar. If you do not see it, reload the page.
- Click Scan now. The scan reads your help center with your own permissions and never changes anything. A few thousand articles take a minute or two.
- Open Findings. Each finding explains what is wrong, why it matters and how to fix it. Click Fix on a finding, review the preview and apply. A snapshot file is downloaded before anything is written, and undo is available on the Activity screen.
Explore the other tools in the left rail: Find and replace, Bulk actions, Print and export, Templates and Link map.
Good to know
Applying changes needs a Zendesk role that can edit the articles (a Guide admin or the right permission group). Other roles can scan, review, preview and export.
If your help center uses content blocks (Guide Enterprise), read the warning before applying body changes; metadata fixes never touch article bodies.
To change or cancel the plan: Admin Center > Apps and integrations > Zendesk Support apps > Help Center Doctor > Change plan.
