Privacy and data handling:
Depending on configuration and enabled features, Grypp may access, use, and store data needed to deliver the service. This can include customer and agent interaction data shared during a live session, session metadata, uploaded files and documents, signatures, identity verification data where enabled, and audit trail data. Where payment workflows are used, payment-related data may be handled through PCI DSS compliant external payment partners.
This data is used to deliver live support, enable visual collaboration, support document and verification workflows, maintain audit records, provide reporting, and improve service delivery. Grypp states that personal information is stored in fully encrypted cloud systems in the UK, EU, or US, retained only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected and to meet legal obligations, and not passed to third parties unless required for those purposes or by law.

How to install
Admin setup
- Obtain your Grypp API key from your Grypp account or Grypp representative
- In Zendesk Admin Center, go to Apps > Marketplace, search for Grypp Visual Engagement and click Install
- On the settings screen, paste your API key into the Grypp API key field and confirm the allowed domains are
api.grypp.ioandassets.grypp.io - Choose which invitation methods you want to enable for agents: Email, SMS, Copy link, Zendesk ticket message
- Configure your preferred tag prefix and Grypp tags if you want transcripts and insights to be written back to tickets
- Adjust polling interval and maximum polling duration if you want to control when transcripts are auto-posted.
Using Grypp in Zendesk
- Open a customer ticket and launch the Grypp Visual Engagement app in the ticket sidebar
- Confirm or update the customer name, email and phone number pre-filled from the ticket requester
- Select an invitation method and click Start Grypp Conversation
- Click Agent Access to join the visual session in a new browser window
- Use Grypp tools (screen share, document sharing, web links) to guide the customer through the journey
- When the session ends, review the interaction summary and any Grypp tags that are automatically posted back into the ticket, or use Get Transcript if you need it on demand.
